It is not uncommon for Christians to fall short in their relationship with God.
It is because of this, many believers are feeling unassured of God's love. This often results in depression and fear; thus, the real danger is becoming vulnerable to satanic and/or self deception.
In contrast to the fleeting assurances offered by the world, the salvation that Christ IS, is an everlasting reality. Although many people spend their lives attempting to buy, create, or achieve assurances, God's salvation of us is complete. The good news is that, even when we do not know what the future holds, we can know the one Who holds the future. This is the assurance that breeds confidence.
The reality is that no believer is without assurance of God's love. The fact that you know that you are saved (1 John 5:13) is assurance enough that you are never without all of heaven's momentum in your favor (Rom. 8). No matter what is happening in the physical world around us, Christ Jesus permeates assurance in the darkest of times. He is working all things, including our failures for our good. The wonderful news for all believers is that Jesus Christ is our assurance. Don't underestimate the power of the blood of Christ. It is all the assurance you will ever need to be assured of God's love and care for your life.
No matter how you feel, no matter what accusations you may wrestle with from within or from without, Jesus Christ will never condemn those He purchased with His blood (period). This reality alone is sufficient for holy ambition. In fact, God says the blood bought believer has already passed from death unto life and will not come into condemnation (John 5:24). This is our only needed incentive for holy living and joyful hearts. Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.
